Cerebral Palsy Sport is the leading national disability sporting charity dedicated to giving children, young people and adults with cerebral palsy fun opportunities to take part in sport. Every year we positively impact on the lives of more than 4,000 people and families affected by cerebral palsy. Many children like to play football, but for children with cerebral palsy who used a frame it wasn't always an option and then Frame Football was born.
Frame Football is an adapted form of cp football to ensure that children with cp could play the beautiful game of football – inclusive, exciting and fun. Frame Football has the ability to change the lives of children, young people and families affected by cerebral palsy which can significantly improve wellbeing, inclusion, independence and quality of life.
The Lace Up Your Boots project will seek to fund new innovative Games Frame frames for Frame football and deliver a nationwide programme of FrameFootball KickStarts and then bring players together for regional and National Kick Off tournaments. Delivered with skilled coaches and supported by trained volunteers – we will bring the beautiful game to children who don’t get the chance to play.
Lace Up Your Boots aims to overcome these fundamental problems, giving young people with cerebral palsy the chance to play their favourite sport with their peers of similar ability and have fun. Kickstarts are for children and young people aged 3 to 16 and players can learn the A, B, Cs of the game - agility, balance and coordination, all real challenges for young cerebral palsy footballers. They will also enjoy sessions on passing, dribbling and shooting before ending with a small-sided game.
We seek to reach over a 150 children and young people with cerebral palsy and other physical disabilities.
Lace Up Your Boots aims to increase participation in football fro frame users. We seek to improve players self-confidence and self esteem, improve skills, reduce their social isolation and enable them to have fun
"The Frame Football he enjoyed with Cerebral Palsy Sport has given him a huge confidence boost and made him feel included and part of a team.” (Parent of a child with cerebral palsy)
