Coping with Cancer in Leicestershire and Rutland is a charity that provides practical and emotional support to anyone affected by cancer, and has been for all most 40 years, helping hundreds of families over the years.
The charity offers a wide range of support and services for not just the patients, but also to their family members and their carers. Our mission is to empower people to help themselves, by actively promoting self-help, mutual support and equal access to all cancer and care services in the locality of Leicestershire and Rutland .
The charity aims to support anyone from the point of contact by offering them the support they require, from telephone, face to face or group support. The charity offers counselling, complementary therapies, 14 different cancer support groups, gentle movement, yoga, mindful and meditation, befriending service as well as 6 drop in in support groups around the county, Coalville, Market Harborough, Loughborough, Wanlip, Melton Mowbray, and Hinckley, These goups meet twice a month offering support for all affected by cancer.
Due to Covid 19 we are having to adapt our services and looking at providing service direct to the clients, like mobile counselling, befriending and a mobile therapists.
