Ending Forever Isolation
We did it
On 12th August 2020 we successfully raised £5,125 ( + est. £13.75 Gift Aid ) with 95 supporters in 68 days

The nation can now empathize with isolation and loneliness, we wish to help the elderly of Sheffield that suffered before the pandemic.

New stretch target

The extra funds will go towards providing travel and transport for people who cannot attend the session by any other means. After which, any remaining funds will be used towards food, drinks and (if possible) some entertainment for the group to enjoy!

During lockdown, it became apparent to the nation how upsetting isolation and loneliness was. Unfortunately for the elderly generation, loneliness and isolation has been a factor of their lives long before the pandemic began and as our own lockdown restrictions ease, their loneliness will continue as it had.

Here at Sheffield United Community Foundation, we want to kickstart the fight against loneliness by providing a weekly support group that elderly people in Sheffield can attend to find friendship and conversation with others in the same situation.
