The Bristol North West Foodbank has been providing emergency food to those in crisis for the last 13 years.  We recognise that those using our services have a variety of reasons why they end up having to turn to a Foodbank.  For the last 7 years we started providing a trained advice worker to help try and tackle some of these reasons, four years ago we took on a second advice worker.  Over the last two years we have also brought in a debt advisor.  The cost of these services is expensive, but we feel they are essential as they can often help a client resolve their issues and take away their need of having to turn to a Foodbank.

The money will go towards the salaries of our two foodbank advice workers and also towards our debt advisor who we contract from North Bristol Debt Centre.

What can we help with?

Benefit checks

Referral to specialist organisations e.g. refugee support

Tackling energy & water debt

Grant applications for household items, carpets, school uniform etc

Income maximisation

Debt help

Housing issues

We really want to continue these services long into the future so that anyone accessing our Foodbank can obtain specialist help to try and resolve their crisis.

Our Advice Workers are available at our five Foodbank outlets-pick up points to speak to clients as well as providing longer bookable appointments.
