The Hall, which has always been central to village life is now 100 years old (opened in December 1922) and the Trustees feel now is the right time to re-establish the Hall as a vibrant hub for the Brockham Community ? travel costs, living costs, environment issues all suggest staying local is ?a good thing?!
The front sections of the Hall have been revitalised to form the Reading Room cafe and the Taphouse Bar. The remaining (large) areas of the Hall are overdue for refurbishment and rejuvenation to make it more accessible and exciting for groups and individuals to use.
We particularly wish to overhaul the heating system and other services, including renewal of the fire alarm system - to make them more cost-effective and environmentally sustainable, incorporating alternative enengy sources including solar, sun-pipes, passive ventilation and insulation.

The main hall has a stage with basic lighting and sound facilities but these need updating to encourage greater use for music, drama, talent contests, parties, weddings and other community events. It is a large space with room to seat 100 people at tables or 150 seated in rows, more for dances.
As part of the improvements we wish to create an IT Help Hub in the (currently unused) rear room. This would act as both a resource for computer usage and to provide an educational and help resource for those less technologically competent.
In order to achieve these aims we are looking to raise funds through running some events as well as seeking donations and sponsorship from other bodies.
