The Scottish Wildlife Trust - with its headquarters based in Edinburgh - is the largest environmental non-governmental organisation in Scotland working on all aspects of wildlife conservation. We were founded 60 years ago and have the support of over 40,000 members. Our objective is "to advance the conservation of Scotland's biodiversity for the benefit of present and future generations".

We believe that through encouraging access to wildlife, we can involve people in understanding, conserving and shaping our environment for the better. In addition to working to conserve wildlife on our network of 120 reserves, we engage with the public and members and work in partnership with others to protect and enhance wildlife throughout Scotland. This is primarily achieved through practical conservation work, advocacy, campaigns and educational activities.

On average we employ approximately 100 staff throughout the year, which rises to 120 during the busy summer months.

We have extensive experience of managing volunteer programmes and a range of conservation activities.
