Our dedicated team at Veterans Aid is committed to making a difference in the lives of homeless veterans and their dependents. We believe that everyone deserves a safe and warm place to call home, especially during the festive season. This Christmas, our vision is to provide emergency accommodation to those in need, ensuring they experience the comfort and dignity they deserve.
We aim to raise funds to cover the costs of emergency housing, meals, and essential support services. With your generous contributions, we will be able to secure safe lodging, provide nutritious meals, and offer vital resources to help them regain stability and independence. Together, we can make a meaningful impact and bring hope to those in need.
Rest assured, our support won't stop once Christmas is over. We will continue to support veterans for as long as needed until they are equipped with all the necessary skills and qualifications to withstand independent living and thrive. With an independently confirmed success rate of over 90%, 9 out of 10 veterans we support are still thriving when we measure impact, usually six months after leaving our care. By supporting us, you make a lasting difference in a veteran's life.
One of our beneficiaries shared his experience: "In 2016, after suffering with alcohol issues, I found myself struggling. I became unemployed and eventually homeless. I reached out to several charities, one of them being Veterans Aid. These guys were so quick to respond, so reactive, so much quicker than anybody else. With the others, there were forms filling and waiting for people to get back to me, but with VA, it was a quick phone call and a quick background check. As soon as I met up with them, they got me off the street the very same day. They got me some clothing that I needed, toiletries, and food vouchers. Amazing stuff. After a few nights in the B&B, they got me into their New Belvedere House accommodation facility, and from there, they helped support me. Every week, I was talking with someone regarding my alcohol issues, my mental health, and everything that I needed. They got me funding for courses, and I managed to have a new career, and from there, I got a job quite quickly. After the job, I was able to move out into my own place, furnished by Veterans Aid. I still struggled in the last 6-7 years around my alcohol, but each time VA has been behind me trying to get me back on the good path. I will always be so grateful to Veterans Aid for everything they have done for me and for so many others just like me. Thank you, Veterans Aid!" Josh
