We can all face problems that seem complicated or intimidating. At Citizens Advice York, we believe no one should have to face these problems without good quality, independent advice.

Across York we are seeing increased demand for our services - 100% more clients year on year - and we’re not able to support everyone that needs us. Clients are also coming to us with more complex issues, last year the time we were spending with each client increased by 30%. Each client interaction is taking longer and this is stretching our capacity even further.

Impact in numbers

● In 23/24 we help 7,302 clients with 16,941 issues

● Our support resulted in £1,962,450 income maximisation for our clients

● We were able to write off a total of £1,706,020 unmanageable debt for our clients

How your fundraising will help

With your help we can support the people that need us most. Any donations we receive will go towards our area of greatest need - helping more clients. The support we offer will empower clients with the knowledge and tools so that they can solve their own problems in the future.

● £30,000 will help us provide additional advice over 3 days every week to support more clients

● £20,00 will help us provide additional advice over 2 days every week to support more clients

● £10,000 will help us provide additional advice over 1 day each week to support more clients
