 New stretch target

We will be able to teach more of our residents how to cook and do more in-depth budgeting and have more time to take residents around the shops and compare prices ect.

We will be able to run the project longer and provide more cooking sessions and more ingredients and skills. we can provide meals for the community at the end of the sessions.

Each sessions we run is for 3 men - and costs around £30

In the session each participant will attend the supermarket to look at the best value of ingredients and then work out how much the meal costs before the cooking session.

If we reach the stretch target we could support 450 men on a cooking session.

We work with men who have hit rock bottom. The majority have been brought up in the care system or in chaotic household and have suffered trauma or abuse from a young age. Many have spent time in prisons and some have spent years living on the street in addiction.

Reflections offer them the chance to beat there addiction by teaching the 12 step as well as a structured programme of counselling and holistic therapies.

Once the men have learnt the tools to deal with addiction, trauma and abuse we work on basic life skills which many of us take for granted, for some they have never had the basic skills instilled in them, such as personal hygiene and basic hose keeping skills, cooking and budgeting,

We would like to use the funds for a cooking on a budget course for our residents, using basic items to make a variety of meals as well as looking at the best value for money of a item.
