With extra money raised we can benefit an even wider community by increasing bike maintenance sessions, putting on more led social rides to build confidence, communities and greener travel across Cornwall.
We are a small team working with the charity Cornwall Life Recycle based in Camborne.
Our aim is to make a difference to people in our local community - Cornwall Life Recycle is passionate about recycling and we recycle 97% of everything that comes into the project, we actively promote this to everyone that visits us.
We work with local schools we are able to engage their more challenging students.
We also support people referred through social services and other agencies who support disadvantaged vulnerable adults and young people.
Many of our volunteers live locally and find it beneficial to come along and help. One of our clients (Chris) said since he had been attending his memory had improved and he loved being part of the team.
The bicycles after they are safety checked by a qualified technician are made available to the local community to purchase with all profits going back into the charity to enable more people to benefit from the sessions we provide.
Our vision is to become mobile and the money we raise from Aviva Crowdfunder will enable us to take our charity out into the community - a mobile Cornwall Life Recycle - enabling us to reach people of ALL ages in rural areas, areas of deprivation and other areas where transport and access to a bike is limited. Through the mobile project we will build cycling communities, improve physical and mental health and social inclusion whilst also encouraging more people to make more journeys by bike.
