- Sunah’s Crisis Team was established in June 2020 in response to addressing the effects of Covid-19 in the community of Brent in London. Our main objectives are to help with tackling isolation and loneliness in our community here in Brent as well as with inspiring a sense of community and interpersonal trust. Our target group comprises of people who had been particularly vulnerable to the previous pandemic, the current crisis in living costs and who are periodically homeless.
- Our past projects involved the supply and delivery of healthy and nutritious meals to those worse affected by the pandemic in the London borough of Brent. They also involved organising karaoke and other board games sessions in tandem with the deliverance of food. We have helped more than 300 beneficiaries since 2020 and have obtained funding from multiple organisations such as Groundwork, Voice4Change, the National lottery and Brent Council.
- However, for this specific project we will be introducing a new service in collaboration with a professional homeless advisor who is a professional who provides assistance, guidance, and support to individuals who are experiencing homelessness or other financial impediments.
- This is because apart from the continuous support we offer with food and mental health , we wanted to provide our beneficiaries with something practical to help them change their circumstances.
