Provide daily nutritious meals and financial advice to low-income families during school holidays, easing stress and promoting stability.
by Chasdei Esther in London, England, United Kingdom
Chasdei Esther was established to support families on low income access training, education by making grants to enable people to study and receive an education . In addition, using a means tested approach Chasdei Esther supports families on low income with food staples. During the 'cost of living ' crisis the demand is more than ever and we have launched a new project 'Feeding Families Together.'
Our project assists low-income families, single parents, and underemployed individuals by providing nutritious meals and financial guidance. Alongside daily meals, we will share budget-friendly recipes and display financial tips on saving, budgeting, and debt management. Weekly, a financial advisor will offer practical strategies to help parents improve financial stability. By equipping participants with essential tools, we aim to reduce dependency on assistance and foster resilience. Impact will be measured through financial literacy improvements, debt reduction, increased savings, and decreased reliance on aid, assessed via feedback and follow-up surveys.
Families with children aged 11 and under facing food poverty during school holidays will benefit. Children will receive nutritious meals, preventing hunger and supporting their well-being, while parents gain relief from financial stress and access to practical financial advice.
During school holidays, food poverty worsens due to the Cost of Living crisis, leaving many families struggling to provide meals. With free school meals unavailable, children face hunger, and teachers have reported students returning to school with fewer snacks and signs of malnutrition. Food is a basic need, essential for children's growth, learning, and well-being. Lack of proper nutrition can have long-term effects on their development and education. Our project ensures that families with children aged 11 and under receive nutritious meals during school breaks, helping to combat food poverty—because after all, it's the food that sets the mood!
We aim to raise enough funds through this campaign to provide meals for children. Prepared in our state-of-the-art community kitchen and served in the hall, these meals will provide quality nutrition in a warm, welcoming space for families in need.
