THE IDEA,THE VISION,THE PLAN
Our project, Green Future Belfast, is designed to engage young people aged 13 to 25 through education, hands-on activities, and leadership development. We believe that by focusing on this age group, we can foster a deep understanding of sustainability and climate action during a formative period in their lives. Our aim is to create a ripple effect where young people inspire their peers, families, and communities to adopt more sustainable practices and advocate for environmental policies.
The £50,000 we aim to raise will be strategically allocated to maximize the impact of our project. A significant portion will go towards hiring a full-time project coordinator, ensuring that the project is well-managed and that all activities are executed smoothly. Educational workshops and seminars will provide participants with the knowledge and tools they need to understand and address climate issues. Hands-on community projects will allow them to put this knowledge into practice, creating tangible environmental benefits in Belfast.
We will also establish a Youth Climate Ambassadors Program to train young leaders who will spearhead initiatives and represent the project in various forums. A Climate Action Hackathon will encourage innovative solutions to local environmental challenges, and our awareness campaign will amplify the message of sustainability across the community. Additionally, we will provide Sustainable Living Starter Kits to participants, equipping them with eco-friendly products that promote sustainable habits.
Through these efforts, we aim to increase climate awareness, foster youth leadership, and drive community-wide action. Our vision is to build a more sustainable Belfast by empowering its youth to lead the charge in climate advocacy and environmental stewardship.
