We're still collecting donations
On the 30th September 2024 we'd raised £26,411 with 223 supporters in 42 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
We would like to raise money to help us move into our new centre and run the evening meal for our homeless community for 3 months.

On the 30th September 2024 we'd raised £26,411 with 223 supporters in 42 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
If we are able to raise more than our target goal we will be able to upskill our community and set up a bakery. We will run a project teaching our beneficiaries to bake bread which will be used to feed people through our Street Food Project.
Support Growing Links: Building a Local, Resilient and Sustainable Food System through:
Education: Teaching people about growing and cooking healthy, seasonal food.
Natural, Chemical-Free Horticulture: Growing food in a way that’s good for people and the environment.
Permaculture: Applying sustainable farming practices.
Community: Bringing people together to celebrate and share food.
Growing Links CIC was created in 2013 as an action against food poverty. We wanted to redress the balance between people in our community going hungry despite increased food waste nationally.
Our Projects:
Street Food Project: We provide hot, nutritious meals to rough sleepers, the homeless, vulnerable adults and those experiencing poverty. We’re moving to an indoor location at the Safe and Well Hub in Heamoor.
The Community Garden: Our 1.5-acre garden offers a peaceful space for everyone to grow food, learn, and relax. Open to all, it's a place to connect with nature, participate in horticulture for well-being, or simply enjoy the surroundings. We grow according to natural, chemical-free principles promoting health through fresh air, nature, and physical activity. Our agroecological veg bags support a healthy community and environment by providing seasonal food, reducing food miles, and contributing excess to the Street Food Project.
The Tree Field: A wellness space where people can enjoy yoga, meditation, exercise classes, and treatments nestled within a meadow. The healing effects of nature are profound. Time spent in natural environments has been shown to reduce stress, anxiety, and depression, while improving mood and overall mental well-being. It’s a place for rejuvenation and community support.
Why We Need Your Help:
A vital contract that we have been providing for the last 3 years will end in September. This income has been essential for running the Street Food Project, our food bank, and providing lunch for our volunteers. We’re moving to a new location in September.
Our Goal:
We’re seeking your support to cover the costs of this move and to fund three months of operational core expenses for the Street Food Project. Your contribution will ensure that this lifeline of support for the most vulnerable members of our community continues without interruption.
Why Your Support Matters:
This choice supports local, sustainable and seasonal food and contributes to a better food system. This choice supports the garden where the food was grown and the community that helped grow it. This choice is mindful of the planet and people and helps Growing Links to make change in our community.
This project offers rewards in return for your donation.
