Project by BATH CITY FARM

Who are we?

Welcome to Bath City Farm.

We're a working Farm in Whiteway, Bath, that's also a much-loved charity and a popular visitor attraction too.

Our Farm provides 37 acres of green spaces for nature and 50 000 visitors a year from Bath and beyond to thrive. Our targeted projects help around 1300 children, young people and adults each year with a mental health challenge or additional learning needs to thrive and be well. We also provide education and training for people whose social or economic circumstances mean they have need of it, to prepare them for work or further training.

Community impact

Thanks to your generous donations in the last two years, we have been able to support even more children, young people and adults through our programmes.

We have taken on more staff to meet increased demand and invested in our facilities to make our projects even more impactful. We are helping to tackle the climate emergency by growing more food and carrying out conservation work across our site to increase biodiversity and store more carbon.

Why are we crowdfunding?

In that time though we have also seen our core costs rise. The post-Covid funding landscape, cost of living and energy crises, and increasing complexity in our communities have made our work even more challenging.

We need to raise £40 000 to help us meet these rising costs, to help us grow our services for the community, continue to maintain and enhance our beautiful 37-acre site, and keep our Farm free at the point of access.

How we’ll spend the money raised

The money you contribute will:

· Fund staff who make the Farm possible, and help to make the Farm a great base for our mental health projects, children and young people activities

· Maintain the Farm as a free to access site for local communities Cover rising energy, food and material costs

· Help us to care for our animals

£19 a day pays for all our animal food and bedding

£56 a week pays for our vet bills

£100 buys 10 metres of fencing

£200 a day helps us to maintain our Farm site and grounds

£270 a year pays for all our seeds

For many the Farm is a place to recover from acute mental distress and rebuild a healthier lifestyle, connecting with nature and each other. For children and young people, it can be a place to feel safe and express themselves in a supported environment. Engaging in the natural world, growing food, connecting with animals and joining in social activity has the potential to transform a person’s life and help them to live well. This happens daily at Bath City Farm.

If you like our work and can afford to, please give generously, and be a part of our story.

Never have community organisations been so important. This is a challenging time for many, but places like Bath City Farm provide a place of belonging to help address many of life’s challenges.

Bath City Farm is completely unique and needs your support. Please give generously if you can.
