Who are we?
The Community Grub Hub in Aldershot opened its doors in December 2021, recognising the increasing need within the local community for an independent foodbank.
What we do
Since opening its doors, the Community Grub Hub has developed into a welcoming warm place for residents, not only to help feed themselves and their families in these difficult times, but also to provide an opportunity to speak to experts on issues around energy, debt, housing and health.
Social Benefits
Even more importantly, the Community Grub Hub provides a warm, welcoming hub to have a hot drink and a chat with people who really care.
Environmental Benefits
On average the Community Grub Hub hands out circa 1.5 tonnes of food to around 240 residents every week. Much of this food would otherwise go to landfill. With over 1800 families registered to receive help from the Community Grub Hub we are best placed to help the most vulnerable in society to back on to their feet, wether they need help with their weekly food or more long term advice and guidance.
The environmental and social benefits of the Community Grub Hub are immense.
With the on-going cost of living increase we know that this Christmas is going to be especially challenging for many of the families we already support.
The Plan
Can you help? If so, please consider hosting a virtual guest or two for Christmas lunch. The average cost of a Christmas dinner is £27.50 (according to ‘The Sun’),by donating the equivalent of one or more Christmas dinners you can really help us feed your local community. Please help us give a little joy this Christmas. Thank you!
