We help young people dealing with traumatic childhood experiences to become happy, healthy, safe and independent adults, through specialist support, mentoring, training and practical help.

Life Chance Trust

Young people whose childhood has been overshadowed by significant trauma - including violence, abuse and/or neglect - need extra help to find their way to a happy, healthy, safe and independent adult life.

Life Chance Trust is a brand new charity with big aspirations to transform the life chances of some of the most vulnerable and marginalised 16-25 year olds in our communities.

Based in Newton Abbot, we work with young people whose childhood trauma has led to emotional, behavioural or educational difficulties that exclude them from many of the traditional pathways to training and employment.

For these young people, growing up has been especially hard, and navigating the journey to adulthood is a major challenge. They shouldn’t have to face that challenge alone.

With your help, we'll listen to, counsel, mentor and coach young people to build trusting, positive relationships, keep learning, begin earning, and gradually become resilient and capable adults.

We'll work tirelessly to 'join the dots' so that young people struggling with their social, emotional or mental health can access the available support and opportunities.

We'll help them to find their passion, and be there to encourage them to stick with it, even if the going gets tough.

Your support will enable us to work with and for young people, led by their needs, hopes and aspirations, to improve mental health and build confidence, self-esteem, resilience and independence.
