To support local young people who are struggling financially and finding life hard by providing free practical life skills support.

This project has been nominated by Delta Corporate Risk in the Aviva UK Broker Community Fund in 2024.
With additional funds this would allow us to open the Life skills kitchen on more days (including Saturdays), to be accessed by far more young people, who are finding life hard and needing additional support...
Operating for over 20 years, we are here to help and support children & young people who are finding life hard.
I am the Chief Officer of the organisation and I lead an inspiring group of employees and a 60 strong pool of volunteers who do all that they can to help young people to find their feet.
We have been running a life skills kitchen for almost 10 years but it is under threat due to lack of funding. My vision and passion is to find £5,000 to keep this vital provision going. demand for our support is growing so pausing or ending provision would be a real loss for the vulnerable young people who need us to both survive and then thrive.
The kitchen cater for both one to one and group support
It only takes £5,000 a year to fund the basics running costs of the kitchen. This includes running costs (electricity) ingredients and a basic larder, volunteer and staffing costs and a small contribution to repairs and replacements.
With this relatively small investment we know we can transform young lives for the better. We hope Aviva can help us to help local young people to access this warm, safe and empowering space where they can start to face to future with confidence not fear.
