Music Treehouse is an ongoing programme and so any additional funds raised will continue to support workshops and 1:1 sessions across the year.
Engagement in the programme can be a vital life-line and so during lockdown we have been offering pre-recorded online sessions but really need to be able to continue our 1:1 online music therapy sessions across the whole summer, to support emotional and traumatic issues of isolation currently being experienced.
“We are the best drummers in the world!”
Music Treehouse is part of a wider, inclusive community programme offering parents respite and the chance to socialise. It offers families techniques and activities to help support and engage their children at home.
When live sessions return, any additional funding will contribute to much-needed assistance with ongoing live workshops and 1:1 music therapy sessions to ensure all participants are able to attend and enjoy the stimulus of creative music making together again.

Award-winning charity HMDT Music has been running Music Treehouse since 2016 as part of its 25 year old weekly Saturday Programme. A leader at developing inspiring arts projects which support other areas of learning, HMDT Music works with world class artists and experts to create work in schools, prisons and the community using music and the arts to develop young people's creativity, confidence, technical skills, achievements and aspirations. Projects range from commissions of new works for young people to perform linked to relevant themes such as Trench Brothers commemorating ethnic minority soldiers in the First World War through performances, workshops, teaching resources and an exhibition, to One Spirit offering rehabilitation and mentoring to young offenders both in prison and on release. Its Saturday Programme includes lessons, workshops, group and individual sessions and performances for The Music Box Early Years, CYMH instrumental, I Can Sing! Music Theatre and the Julian Joseph Jazz Academy as well as Music Treehouse.
