  • New polytunnel for extending food growing season
  • Keep funding our Harvest Food Box co-ordinator
  • Extra food growing equipment - canes, mesh and raised areas.

Growing food for our community

Our Mission

We want to ensure that in these difficult times, families still have access to healthy fruit and vegetables which they can't always afford or get from the Food Banks.    All our extra harvest is delivered as free fresh food boxes to the local community in need - currently around 500 boxes a year!

Our Garden

Is an wonderful outdoor community space.  We support over 100 people from all ages & abilities to get digging and planting - and grow their own food.  The results are fresh, tasty fruit & vegetables for the tummy and also fresh air and friendship - great for the heart and soul.    For 18 years we have been growing food AND also growing the local community spirit and helping people recover from physical and mental health issues.

Growing Bigger & Better

1717581952_weeding.jpgWe now have a 4th allotment plot at the garden - which means we can grow even more fresh food to support  struggling in these difficult times - we want increase our harvest by 25%   However we need your help to raise £2,000 for extra tools, compost and staff time to get our new plot up and running this summer. Simply put, we really need more funds, and the need is still greater than ever.

Tackling Climate Change

Our project teaches people how to grow food sustainably & learn growing methods that are resilient to climate-change, such as:

-  mulching to retain water

- growing to save space, companion planting to reduce pesticides

- growing plants suitable for warmer climates and less water.

We show people how to harvest rainwater, compost all the organic material, as well as creating spaces for nature to encourage natural pest control.

The best thing is everyone gets outdoor exercise & access to free, organic food with zero food miles - which is a win-win for people and the planet!

Any donation large or small towards our goal, would be be much appreciated.

Thank you
