New stretch target

Donate to lock away carbon and boost nature through rewilding

Pledge your support to make more rewilding happen and help us:

  • Restore peatlands and wetlands to lock up carbon and purify water
  • Establish flower-rich meadows for bats, bees and butterflies
  • Create new native woodlands, allowing red squirrels to expand their range
  • Remove wildlife migration barriers to improve habitat connectivity
  • Revitalise rivers to help otters, salmon and trout
  • Return missing, or threatened, native species to their former range
  • Reignite natural processes such as predator-prey interactions and nutrient cycling
  • Develop new nature-based business models to sustain vibrant communities

At SCOTLAND: The Big Picture, we work towards our vision of a vast network of rewilded land and water across Scotland, where wildlife flourishes and people thrive.

In April this year, we launched our Northwoods Rewilding Network to partner with owners and managers of medium-sized landholdings across Scotland – from small estates and farms to crofts and community woodlands – and support their aspirations to rewild.

Already, we are providing help and guidance to 30 land partners, and using their journeys to demonstrate the power of rewilding at this scale to restore habitats, recover wildlife populations, mitigate climate change and support rural communities.

There is great potential for rewilding across our partner sites, but funding practical actions to accelerate rewilding remains a big challenge. We’ve set up the Northwoods Rewilding Fund to help our partners cover the cost of targeted actions using established techniques to kick-start rewilding on their land.

Over £200 million has been raised from our crowd to support the projects they love! Plus tens of millions more unlocked by our partners.
