0Scouts is where young people make new friends, have amazing adventures, and learn new skills.
Scouts are do-ers and give-it-a-go-ers. Yes, we go camping, hiking, swimming, abseiling, cycling and canoeing. But we also get to hang out with our friends every week – having fun, playing games, working in a team and taking on new challenges.
Many of our activities take place outdoors and their are many places we can use across the UK. However sometimes we just need something local within easy reach of our Scout huts. A weekend camp, an activity on a Scout meeting night.
Salisbury Scouts for many years had unrestricted access to a piece of land on a local estate but times have changed, and estates need to generate income so the land we used for camping etc. is now used for commercial purposes not compatible with Scouting activities.
We have made a decision that we are going to buy our own Camp Site local to Salisbury and for several years have been working away raising funds. Our target is £150,000. To date we have raised £128,000 so we are getting close.
Perhaps you were once a Scout and enjoyed Camping and would like to give something back, maybe you just like the idea of giving young people the opportunity to experience being outdoors having fun and learning new skills. With your help we can provide these experiences to young people for generations to come. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
