Six years ago, a neglected green space in Barne Barton captured our hearts. With the tireless dedication of our local community, we breathed life into this forgotten corner, transforming it into a thriving sanctuary of growth, hope, and healing.
We're being match funded by Aviva and Access - The Foundation for Social Investment. So everything donated up to £150 is going to be quadrupled...WOW!
This means that if someone donates £10 we'll receive £50 and if they donate £150 we'll receive a total of £750!
(This means that if we receive x26 donations of £150 we'll hit our target!)
The Pioneers Project CIC was born in communities in Plymouth where people face disadvantage, and it has grown to serve children, young people and families who need support across Plymouth and into South East Cornwall and the South Hams in the UK. We value people and their individuality but recognise that connection is so important for our mental health and sense of worth.
Attainable Growing Spaces: 22 families can have their own plots, cultivating not just food, but community bonds and a deeper connection to the earth and each other.
Outdoor learning: Our weekly forest school provides 90 local children with a nurturing environment to learn and grow, fostering resilience and curiosity. Learning and trying real food and how it can nourish and heal, learning where it comes from, giving access to green space often not available.
Trauma informed support: weekly sessions for children facing challenges in mainstream education, our nature-based sessions offer invaluable experiences, teaching them about themselves.
The landowner has given us the opportunity to purchase the land to secure the site for future use for the community, we need to secure this fund to purchase the land to continue to support the people of Barne Barton and the children of Riverside Primary School.
We're launching a crowdfunding campaign to purchase the land and secure a future for our project. Your support will ensure that our sanctuary continues to thrive, providing invaluable opportunities for growth, learning, and healing for generations to come.
Join our mission and be a part of something truly special. Together, we can ensure that our sanctuary remains a beacon of hope and transformation for our community.
Thank you to Aviva and Access the Foundation for Social Investment who are supporting by match funding what you give so your money goes further.
This project offers rewards in return for your donation.
