Reach out to more survivors and survivor family members
When a stroke happens to you or a family member it causes a ripple effect and really does change your life forever. We at StrokeInformation want to educate others and help them understand what its like to have a stroke and promote coping strategies. If the stroke survivor is of a working age, help get them back into employment or feeling valued once more. Everyone involved with our charity has been impacted by Stroke so when we say #WeCareBecauseWeveBeenThere we really do mean it. There is no better feeling in the world than when you help someone and we like to draw on our own experiences to assist in another recovery journey. From the outset of feeling isolated we will empower you to become the best version of yourself.
We started a free weekly drop in service where if you have been impacted by Stroke, you could pop in without an appointment and chat with experienced stroke survivors to discuss the highs, the lows, the dips and the things to look out for, even to the formalities of claiming for social security and benefit applications. COVID hasn't stopped us from doing what we do and we have recently adapted with technology and we can now meet virtually in the tortoiseshell arms, a local pub named after our mascot "Steady Eddie" a registered trademark based on Aesop's fable the tortoise and the hare, depicting the one who takes their time will get there in the end. Any funds raised goes directly to helping others impacted by Stroke anywhere in the world. 17 Million strokes happen every single year globally and we know we what we do works, so please help us to help others. Thank you
