We propose to install a solar panel system on the west facing school roof which will have the capacity to generate 60% of our electricity.

Use the money to promote energy savings through insulation to save heating waste.
Also fit press taps in the toilets.
Can small schools afford to invest in their children’s future? We have to show our children that we can. We want to be a viable centre of learning with a reasonable environmental impact. We are a small rural church school working with the local community aiming to use the sun’s inexhaustible power to run our daily electricity needs.
Objectives:
1. Reduce Carbon Footprint: By harnessing solar energy, we aim to significantly reduce our reliance on fossil fuels and decrease carbon emissions associated with electricity consumption.
2. Energy Cost Savings: Transitioning to solar power will help us lower our energy bills over the long term, allowing us to allocate more resources towards our core mission and programs.
3. Educational Outreach: We intend to use the solar panel installation as an educational tool to raise awareness about renewable energy among our staff, stakeholders, and the broader community.
4. Demonstrate Leadership: By embracing sustainable practices, we seek to set an example for other organizations and inspire them to adopt similar initiatives.
So far we have pledges that total £12 000 and we have a shortfall of £3 000.
We are so grateful to hope Valley Climate Action and our school PTFA who along with Garfield Weston, have shown this project can be viable. Please help us to reach our goal!
