From the moment I stepped out of secondary school, I declared war on desks and classrooms, determined to forge my path through life fueled by creativity and spontaneity. I dove headfirst into the world of entrepreneurship, running micro-businesses as a teen, convinced that work would be a perpetual party. However, reality hit hard when I realized that the work I craved wasn't all fun and games. Despite my boundless energy and work ethic, I found myself bouncing from one job to another, faster than others would change hoover bags.
By the time I was 21, I was 12k in debt, and 3 failed business attempts, as well as a rolly-polly yummy toddler who wanted food and fun that costs... I tried various employment programs, including a work boot camp that my UC work coach sent me, but it just didn't work for my style.
It wasn't until I stumbled upon the Young and Inspired Infancy Employment Program, Savvy and Successful, that I finally felt like I found my tribe. Instead of focusing on building a resume from scratch, the program recognized and celebrated my special gifts, showing me how to leverage them within the employment landscape. For the first time, I wasn't just another cog in the machine; I was encouraged to carve out my niche and work flexibly while staying committed to my goals.
Inspired by my own journey, I became determined to pay it forward and help other young people like me discover their potential. Drawing from the best practices of programs like Savvy and Successful, as well as the support I received (and wished I had received), I set out to develop trade secrets—strategies and insights tailored to the needs of creative minds with a penchant for entrepreneurship.
Through mentorship and advocacy, I empowered young and inspired individuals to embrace their uniqueness and navigate the employment landscape on their own terms. By harnessing their creativity and channeling their energy into meaningful pursuits, I watched as they transformed challenges into opportunities, just as I had done.
In the end, it's not just about finding a job; it's about finding fulfillment and purpose in everything we do. And with the right support and guidance, every young and inspired individual has the potential to carve out their own path to success.
