We would like to create a fund to allow our (formerly homeless) residents access to high level training courses to improve job prospects.

by Thomas Banham in London, England, United Kingdom

At Emmaus South Lambeth Community, we provide residence, volunteer work, and a sense of community to those experiencing homelessness for as long as they need it.

We support our residents, who we call Companions, by providing them with all the assistance and guidance to find independent accommodation and work until they are ready to move on. We always keep an eye out for any appropriate training to help our Companions achieve this goal, but we are limited in how much we can spend.

This is why we are aiming to create a training fund for use by our Companions. This will allow them to access higher level training courses which will allow them greater prospects when looking for external employment opportunities.
