We are a local charity working for the most disadvantaged and underprivileged communities in Birmingham. We will help the elderly in the lockdown to help them get active and engaged in social communication. Therefore, we will contact them by electronic devices or telephone to have a conversation about their daily life in lockdown and will hear their stories of life. They will be provided light exercises and tips on how to cope in the pandemics.
The money will be used to pay our project coordinator salary, buy gadgets for our virtual assistants (volunteers), their out of pocket expenditures, and internet facilities.
We have already communicated with our beneficiaries to learn about their life in lockdown and provide our services to them. Here is the story of our client.
The very first interaction with Mr Ahmed was pleasant. He appears to be a jolly person who loves to live in the moment. The conversation with Mr Ahmed was based on the activities and aims of the project. Our virtual assistant Sabiha got formally introduced to this gentleman by our Chairman Mr Mohammed Foiz Uddin MBE. Mr Ahmed found this initiative to be extremely thoughtful. He was excited to know that Sabiha was a student of literature and as he personally takes interest in literature he said he would love to discuss a lot the diversity in literature.
When asked about his experience of national lockdown, Mr Ahmed replied in the negative saying that lockdown has made him stuck at home and without any friendly gathering. He loves to meet his friends and family and spend time with them.
