Our Story:
We are Rose Cottage Hub, a Community Interest Company (CIC) limited by guarantee with four passionate directors, three of whom are unrelated. For over four years, we’ve been serving our community, located in a highly deprived area that has been hit hard by the rising cost of living. Many in our community face financial hardships, and we’ve made it our mission to support them in every way we can.
Our team is driven by the belief that everyone deserves a warm space, a hot meal, and a sense of belonging—especially during challenging times. We’ve seen firsthand the impact of social isolation, food insecurity, and financial stress, and we’re committed to being part of the solution.
Our Vision:
This winter, our vision is to expand Rose Cottage Hub into a Warm Social Wellbeing Hub—a safe, welcoming space where people can come together to escape the cold, share a hot drink, and find much-needed support. We aim to create an environment where everyone, regardless of their circumstances, feels valued and connected.
The project is designed to address the immediate needs of our community while equipping them with tools for long-term financial independence and sustainability. Running during the cold winter months, the hub will offer a warm communal space, provide daily hot drinks, serve nutritious meals a few days a week, and provide affordable food packs. In addition we will deliver financial wellbeing workshops to help individuals and families cope with rising living costs.
The hub will offer:
- A warm, energy-efficient space where people can gather to reduce their individual home heating needs. This not only helps residents lower their energy bills but also reduces the community's overall carbon footprint by centralising heating and resources.
- Daily access to hot drinks to provide warmth and comfort
- Nutritious meals on certain days to ensure no one goes hungry
- By purchasing supplies in bulk, we’ll offer low-cost food packs filled with essential items to help ease food insecurity and provide relief to those most impacted by the cost-of-living crisis.
- We will host expert-led sessions on financial literacy, budgeting, debt management, and energy-saving strategies. These workshops aim to give attendees the knowledge and skills to become more financially resilient.
The project is designed to not only provide immediate relief from the harsh winter conditions but also empower people to manage their finances, reduce their energy usage, and build sustainable habits that benefit both individuals and the environment. By fostering a sense of community and offering critical support, the Warm Social Wellbeing Hub will help ensure that vulnerable residents are not left behind during challenging times.
How We’ll Use the Funds:
The money we raise will be used to:
1. Provide Daily Hot Drinks and Nutritious Meals: We will purchase food and drink supplies to ensure the community has access to hot drinks daily and nutritious meals a few days a week, helping to ease the burden of food insecurity during the winter months.
2. Purchase Food Supplies in Bulk for Affordable Food Packs: We’ll buy essential food items in bulk and create affordable food packs for individuals and families in need.
3. Deliver Financial Wellbeing Workshops: Funds will be used to organise expert-led workshops on budgeting, debt management, and energy-saving strategies, empowering attendees with the knowledge and skills to become more financially independent.
With your support, we’ll be able to help our community not just survive, but thrive through the cold winter months. Together, we can make sure no one feels alone or unsupported.
