WWT Arundel Volunteering - March
Contribute to real wetland conservation work.
Location
- Tue 4 Mar 2025, 10:00am-4:00pm
Sorry, opportunity full
Wheelchair accessible
What you will be doing
Activities may include planting wildflower meadows, coppicing trees and shrubs, removing invasive plant species, restoring wildlife hides, even donning waders and working from within our ponds and reed beds. WWT corporate volunteers contribute to real wetland reserve conservation activities across our Wetland Centres, which comprise our annual reserve management plans. Please note that conservation activities may be subject to change due to the weather, environmental considerations and reserve priorities.
What we are looking for
We welcome all skill and experience levels. Please let us know about any accessibility requirements in your team in advance, as most tasks on our reserves require physical labour and we will need to plan ahead and make adjustment. Please see our accessibility information for WWT Arundel here: https://www.wwt.org.uk/wetland-centres/arundel/plan-your-visit/accessibility/
Our corporate volunteering days will:
- Strengthen your team, boost their morale and create a real sense of achievement
- Improve your team’s health and well-being, ensuring they return to work feeling re-energised and de-stressed
- Give your team a greater understanding of environmental issues and wetland conservation
- Help meet your corporate social responsibility objectives
What difference this will make
You’ll be helping with real wetland conservation work, creating, enhancing and restoring wetlands for wildlife and people.
You can support WWT and join us at our Arundel Wetland Centre in West Sussex for a day volunteering outdoors, getting stuck into real wetland conservation work helping us to unlock the power of wetlands – and help nature burst back to life. By signing up for this volunteering opportunity today, you can get closer to nature and take action for wetlands.
In March at WWT Arundel, listen for the songs of sedge and reed warblers in the reedbeds. Lapwings nest on grasslands and early butterflies appear.
Your conservation task will be part of essential reserve management that is done on an annual basis in order to maintain and enhance the biodiversity of the site. These activities have a real impact on our wetland reserves and are proven to enhance the health and wellbeing of participants.
We look forward to welcoming you to WWT Arundel for a day of meaningful volunteering, working with one of the world’s leading conservation charities to make a real difference.
