Please help to put a smile on the faces of our older people who , hidden away from sight, are so easily overlooked and forgotten.
Our older people who attend the Centre have poor mobility and rely on our transport to be collected from their home. Our lovely mini-bus needed a major repair which has severely eaten into our reserves. This money will make a great difference to our moving forward and being able to fill our building with older people coming together and enjoying themselves again in the way they always have done. We also have a wonderful band of volunteers who make this all possible. This includes people with learning disabilities and with poor mental health and they have also suffered during lockdown . Several volunteers have been phoning the elderly throughout lockdown and we know how much a return means to them. The majority were already lonely and isolated and the impact of not being able to be collected and brought out has had a significant effect on them. We are also seeking funds to pay our caretaker for additional cleaning to the building in order to follow guidelines and keep our elderly safe.
