TLC St Luke's has been operating in the Ardwick area of Manchester for over 30 years. We offer an Art studio project and a Drop-in service on 3 sites in Ardwick. The Drop-in offers activities such as Food and Mood cookery courses, Music sessions, Exercise, Theatre trips, Advocacy, IT lessons but above all friendship without judgement and a warm, safe space for everybody. We aim to build confidence and self esteem in our clients and break down barriers around mental health.
The Drop-in project does not receive any statutory funding so our finances are always on a knife edge. We do not need huge amounts of money to enable us to remain open for 12 months; 25K would cover our costs including staff costs and rental. Up to 50 people drop-in to our sessions each week ; people develop friendship groups, build resilience, have fun and get out of the house for a few hours each week
At the start of the Covid 19 pandemic TLC had to move to a telephone service to support our clients. When it is safe to do so we want to reopen our doors as we know our service will be more in demand than ever before; that is why we need donations to enable us to continue to support marginalised and often disadvantaged people n Ardwick, Longsight and Manchester City.
