Health and wellbeing

Funding level: Up to £1,000

We are opening a Dementia café in our community rooms in January 2018. We have applied for grants to change our seating suitable to elderly and dementia sufferers but have discovered a more urgent problem in that our windows are rotten beyond repair. We have no choice other than to replace them and have received a quote for £6550. We have already applied for grant funding up to £5000 and we are holding a fundraising event in October but still expect a shortfall in the region of £1000.
We have identified that there is a demand for a dementia café in Mundesley and there is already enormous interest. The local MP Norman Lamb has agreed to be involved and attend our fund raising event. Mundesley is in a financially depressed area of the UK and has a predominately elderly population. We have already increased use of the Community Rooms, the most successful being a monthly Soup n Pud event which regularly attracts 40+ . The dementia café is seen as a natural progression and the start of other activities to improve the health and wellbeing of those living in Mundesley and the surrounding area.

All Saints Community Rooms

Moment of Pride

I was asked to manage the community rooms last September and in the last 12 months we have raised money to make repairs and upgrade the toilets for disabled use. We have a committed group of volunteers and we are going from strength to strength but need a little extra financial assistance
