Community support

Funding level: £1,001 to £5,000

The Mappfest is an organisation whose sole aim is to bring the community together through music and friendship regardless of age, gender, social background or ethnic background.
Through the year members put on various music based activities in order to fund a totaly free music based family festival.
Every year hundreds of people flock to Malvern Common to see musicians of all ages performing on the same stage as well known nationally known groups.
This will be the ninth year since the humble start in my courtyard, which soon grew into the festival as we know it today.
With childrens rides and food and drink stalls we try to provide a true family and community experience and as the Mappfest is truly non profit making every penny raised goes to local Charities.
The event has proved so popular that the cost of staging the event.. Traffic Management, hygiene facilities, security, fuel etc etc is increasing more and more.
We are determined to keep this a free event as the cost of most simular events restrict some people's access.
We have had fly overs by the Red Arrows and the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight for the last three years, this has become a bit of a trade mark for the festival.
We have raised around £30,000 for local charities over the years and we always welcome other organisations to display their charities if they ask.
Your funding will help ensure the festival continues to bring the community together through the magic of music.

Moment of Pride

I really feel that we have made a difference in the community. In the say and age that no one seems to know their neighbours anymore it's a real honour to see the smiles on hundreds of faces and to see so many friendships being forged. At the same time helping so many good causes.
