Community support

Funding level: £1,001 to £5,000

Description

Lumley FC FA Charter Standard Development Football Club of the year for the county & region 2016 & 2017, which means that every team under our umbrella, there must be a Licensed Coach who must hold a football coaching qualification along with a up to date DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) checks, safeguarding and a first aid certificate. Added to this each coach is required to complete between three to six CPD (Continual Personal Development) training hours per season.

All of our committee members and coaches are volunteers who give up there free time, often at the expense of time they can spend with their own families to keep our club going. At our training training sessions it is not just about having someone there but it is about having good structured training sessions in which we have a responsibility to develop the players into becoming "better players" All our coaches have been educated in the clubs ethos which follows the FA guidelines along with additional courses that they are encouraged to attend on a regular basis added to club and league meetings.

As a club we aim to have every coach attend regular courses to improve their knowledge and skills to benefit our club and players, sometimes at their own expense. To aid us in achieving our ethos "better coaches develop better players" With £5000 of funding, the club will be able to create school holiday training sessions, which will benefit the 5-12 year olds in the wider community attending multi sport activities. In addition we aim to offer some of players who are 16 years and over the option of attending a refereeing or football coaching course to encourage them to remain in grassroots football by developing younger players and to become the future of Lumley FC. We aim to provide uniforms to give us a professional image.
Ultimately as well as supporting our club and ensuring that we have trained people in place, this will enable our volunteers to expand on their training and abilities, therefore helping them outside of their football life (creating betterand into the wider community.
