Community support

Funding level: £10,001 to £25,000

The Windlesham Field of Remembrance was established in 1950 when it was purchased by public donations. The woodland was purchased in 1987 and the site now totals 18 acres in size. The Field is still owned by the village and is managed by a dedicated committee of volunteer trustees.

Currently there is a very run down Pavilion built in the 1950s which is becoming dangerous to use and an eye sore on the beautiful surroundings. There are plans in place to replace with a state of the art pavilion in keeping with the surrounding. The hub will include a community cafe offering home made cakes and refreshments in a unique setting. With new changing rooms in place for the blossoming football set up with a Youth section going from strength to strength and an Adult team.

There will also be meetings rooms available for community use. Making this new facility hub for the local community and something the area can be really proud of and sustainable for the future generations.

Moment of Pride

The Trustees have worked tirelessly over the last nine years to make this dream a reality. Overcoming numerous hurdles in the way to get planning in place for this wonderful pavilion. With the aim to leave a lasting legacy to the area in which the whole community can benefit and enjoy.
