Skills for life

Funding level: Up to £1,000

Little Eagles After School Club, based at Nether Alderley Primary School, provides valuable AfterSchool child care for up to 15 children each day.

We are so lucky to be located in some gorgeous countryside and are surrounded by incredible wild-life - hiding in the fields and woodland around us. Apart from the little tell tale signs the animals leave us on the grass, you would never know they are there!!!

Nature cameras provide a fantastic opportunity to see exactly what these animals get up too when the noisy playground quietens down!!

We would like to use the Aviva Community fund to purchase 4 Nature Cameras and set them up in our outdoor space.

- a bird box - to hopefully see some real chicks
- on a bird feeder - to learn about and tick off a list of species
- in the pond - to see up close what lives in there and learn about pond life cycles
- in the bushes / hedges to see if there are hedgehogs / rabbits living there

By photographing & filming our wild-life neighbours, we then intend to start a monthly 'It's Wild Here' Newsletter which the AfterSchool children will get involved in creating and selling to the school as part of our on-going fundraising.

Not only will this technology stimulate interest for our AfterSchool children, but will help widen their social and communication skills by working together to produce a monthly newsletter about what we saw after the school bell rang!

Learning about nature
Working together
Raising future funds

We can't wait to get started!!
