BSYFC are an FA Charter Standard Community Club and in 2011 and 2013 won the GFA Community Club of the Year Award. The club were runners up in 2015 and 2016 for this award. The club ethos is to provide opportunities for all children (boys and girls), of all abilities, to develop their football skills in a physical and social way. The club has boys and girls teams ranging from U7s to U16s, and is one of the only clubs in the region to offer disability football.

Within the under 7s section, there are in excess of 40 children (boys and girls) who receive weekly midweek outdoor coaching throughout the entire year and can compete in matches on a Sunday during the winter as well as summer tournaments.

This specific project will be to provide the right equipment and environment to ensure that all children are warm and protected whilst receiving this coaching. This way they can continue to remain motivated to enjoy their training sessions which focuses on both their social and physical development.

As well as winter training clothing, this project would look to purchase training equipment to make their sessions interactive such as mini hurdles, training ladders and slalom poles etc to ensure that training sessions remain engaging, keeping the children active and developing essential motor skills.
