Skills for life

Funding level: £1,001 to £5,000

Ecclesall Primary School is a newly formed community primary school in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. The school has a very active PTA which raises funds for much needed resources to enhance learning opportunities and facilities for the children.

During the past year, significant building work has been undertaken to increase the size of the school from a two-form entry infant school with 180 pupils, to a three-form entry primary school with 600 pupils! Inevitably, having more pupils means more resources are needed and with school budgets being tighter than ever, our fundraising efforts are vital.

The projector in the school hall needs replacing. When working, it is used every single school day and is essential to both the school and EPTFA to enable and enhance communication during assemblies, talks from visiting speakers, meetings, film nights and quizzes to name but a few. Being able to project text, pictures and videos onto a big screen can help bring an assembly to life and aid understanding.

As a newly formed primary school, we are really keen to hold a community event to bring the whole school together socially to encourage the children to integrate and most importantly have some fun! Our film nights are hugely popular and greatly anticipated and we would like to continue this tradition as soon as possible.

EPTFA are applying to the Aviva Community Fund to request £2000 to purchase a new projector for the school hall which would greatly benefit the pupils and staff on a daily basis as well as enabling the PTA to continue to host our popular fundraising activities.
