Description

Bringing our Community Together to Support Local Children
‘Off the Streets’
For the past five years small Glastonbury based charity, Children’s World, has worked with a wide range of local volunteers, families and organisations to support over 500 local children, with a variety of backgrounds and needs, a year during our ‘Off the Streets’ week of inspiring activities. These include: Farm Days, Cookery, Parkour, Music & Songwriting, Dance, Science and many, many more!
Off the Streets supports young people's inclusion in our community and enhances their mental and physical health with this exciting range of low-cost workshops and events, accessible to all abilities and backgrounds, and through positive interactions with their peers, local organisations and adults.
Our community loves Off the Streets and wants more, but Children's World will need to find funding to be able to offer a sixth year of Off the Streets. Only with financial support will we again be able to deliver these opportunities to local children, including the most disadvantaged.
A grant of only £4,865 from Aviva would fund a whole Off the Streets week - covering all outgoings, including room hire, materials, promotion, volunteer expenses and support staff. Another week would also have a fantastic on-going positive impact on local children and their families, volunteers and our community.
