Skills for life

Funding level: £10,001 to £25,000

East London Radio is an Online Community Radio Station, established in 2013 with aims to -

- Run a local independent media organisation for the area.
- Give a realistic and largely overall positive image of East London to everyone.
- Be a vehicle to promote other organisations and businesses in the area.
- Engage with our whole community, the most diverse on the planet.
- Enable people of all ages and backgrounds in the community to get actively involved.
- To teach these people new skills, boost their confidence and better engage with their community.

There is so much more to East London than the sensational headlines we sadly see all too often, the injuries, the deaths on our streets.

Imagine if we could change perceptions, engage with more younger people, bring communities together.

We've started, but this is a marathon, we need help to get to the next stage.

We have the framework, experience, a growing local brand. We are a Community Interest Company run entirely by unpaid volunteers now, on a shoe string budget.

To grow further, we need to employ part-time staff to help drive our growth, become more of the fabric of East London, work with more volunteers, drive support from the amazing businesses of the area, make more awesome radio output.

We've seen phenomenal growth in online listening, but with enough resources we could look at broadcasting on AM, FM and/or DAB in the future.

After 5 years, we need East London to support us in taking the next steps, to involve more people, to promote East London wider, to grow our output and our stature.

We need to have something the whole of East London can access, can support, be proud of and can cherish.

We did The Olympics, East London can do this.

We're here to make some noise.

East London Radio CIC

Moment of Pride

After over five years of operation, we have some amazing passionate volunteers behind East London Radio.
We've given local people of all ages a voice, an outlet, we know we can and will do more. Lets turn frustration into something positive and break through to the next level, where we should be.
