For nearly 50 years Hope has worked in Northampton to improve the lives of people in poverty or struggling to cope. Through a range of great practical services we help those with the greatest need, but we also work on community building and environmental projects too, to improve our community as a whole.
We form part of the West Northamptonshire Sustainable Food Partnership, looking to feed those in food poverty and also increase the amount of healthy fruit and veg people eat, improving diet and health and cutting food miles.
Our new project is to create a veg box scheme supplying healthy veg boxes to people, based around our wonderful community garden. The garden is a hub for people to volunteer, take part in eco-therapy, escape the stresses of life, and benefit from the fresh air. Its fun, improves health, and gives social opportunities to isolated people, those with mental health and addiction issues.
All funds raised will all support the set up and operation a new service supplying healthy fresh veg to people in Northampton, grown locally.
